Privacy Policy
What this website collects, what it deliberately does not, and what happens to anything you send us.
- Effective
- Last updated
Most privacy policies are long because the company behind them does a lot with your information. This one is specific because we do very little with it, and being able to say exactly what is and is not happening is worth more than a comprehensive-looking document describing practices we have not adopted.
Everything below describes how this website works today. Where we do not do something — cookies, advertising trackers, selling data — it says so plainly rather than reserving the right in case we change our minds later.
Who we are
Bleu Financial LLC, doing business as Bleu Insurance Group, is a licensed insurance agency. This policy is published by Bleu Financial LLC (“Bleu”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and covers bleu.financial — the public website you are reading now.
If you want to reach us about anything in this policy, email info@bleu.financial.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the public website, and the calculation service behind the site’s calculators. It does not cover what happens after you become a client, or anything an insurance company does with an application you submit to them. Those are separate relationships with their own notices, and an insurer’s privacy practices are set by that insurer, not by us.
It also does not cover other companies’ websites we link to. Following a link takes you somewhere this policy has no say over.
The short version
This website is unusually quiet, and the specifics are worth stating plainly before the detail:
- There are no accounts and no logins. Every educational page on this site can be read without giving us your name, your email address or anything else.
- Our agents’ digital business cards have an optional “share my contact” form. What you enter goes only to the agent whose card it is, and this website does not keep a copy.
- The only other form is the agent application in the For Insurance Professionals section, which is for licensed insurance agents applying to work with Bleu. It is not currently accepting submissions — nothing typed into it is transmitted or stored.
- We set no cookies, and there are no advertising or tracking pixels of any kind.
- We measure how the website is used with Umami, an analytics tool we host ourselves. It is designed to work without analytics cookies, and it does not receive form contents, insurance or health details, or your contact details.
- No third-party analytics or advertising service is connected to this website.
The rest of this page explains each of those, and the other things that happen automatically: two small browser settings we remember on your device, website analytics, and the ordinary server records any website produces.
Information you choose to give us
There is no sign-up form and no account on this website. Every guide, comparison and tool here can be used without providing contact information of any kind. Apart from an agent’s digital business card, the only way to send us something from these pages is to email us at info@bleu.financial, which opens your own email program. Emailing us is voluntary.
When you email us, we receive whatever you chose to put in that message — your name and email address at minimum, plus whatever you decided to tell us. We use it to answer you: a licensed insurance agent will reach out.
Two places on this website ask for contact details. One is the optional “share my contact” form on an agent’s digital business card, described in its own section below. The other is the agent application in the For Insurance Professionals section, which is a recruiting form for licensed agents rather than anything to do with buying insurance. It has its own section below, and it is not currently accepting submissions.
Please do not email us sensitive details
Ordinary email is not a secure channel, and this website is not a medical or financial intake system. Please do not send policy numbers, Social Security numbers, detailed medical records, diagnoses or medication lists, account numbers, copies of identity documents, or any other sensitive personal information you do not need to share. If we ever need information of that kind, we will ask for it through a process appropriate to it and tell you what that process is.Our agents' digital business cards
Each Bleu Financial agent can have a digital business card at bleu.financial/, usually opened by tapping the agent’s wristband or scanning their QR code. The card shows the agent’s own contact details. “Save contact” downloads a contact file to your device; we receive nothing when you do.
Sharing your details with the agent (optional)
- The card’s form asks for your name, a phone number or email address (at least one), and an optional note. Nothing else.
- What you send goes only to the agent whose card you used — by email, with your details attached as a contact file, or to a secure (https) address that agent has set up. It is never sent to another agent, and there is no shared inbox.
- This website keeps no copy. The server passes your details on and stores nothing, so they cannot be read back from the website afterwards. The message then sits in the agent’s own inbox, like any email you send them.
- To stop automated abuse, the server holds your IP address in memory for up to ten minutes as a counter, then discards it. If a delivery fails, our logs record which agent and why — never your details.
- If online sharing is not switched on for an agent, nothing is sent. The card instead offers to open your own text-message or email app with a message to that agent, and you decide whether to send it.
- Please do not include policy numbers, health details or other sensitive information in the note.
The cards load no analytics, and they are kept out of search engines. A card remembers one thing in your browser — that its opening animation has already played (see browser storage).
The agent application
The For Insurance Professionals section of this website is for licensed insurance agents considering working with Bleu. It is not consumer content, and nothing in it is advice about buying insurance. That section contains an application form — the only form on this website.
Applications are not being accepted yet
Agent application submission is not currently active on this website. Information entered into the disabled preview is not transmitted or stored. The form is shown so that an agent can see what we would ask for; the submit button is disabled, the receiving endpoint is switched off, and there is no database behind it.
What it would ask for, when it is switched on
Your name, your National Producer Number, your email address, your phone number, your state of residence, how long you have been in the business, which markets you work in, and anything you choose to write in an optional questions box. That is the whole list. We do not ask for production figures, book size, income history or your current contracting arrangements.
Your state of residence is exactly that — where you live. It is not a statement about which states you are licensed in, and we do not treat it as one. Licensing is something we verify ourselves during review.
How it is kept separate from everything else
Agent application information is handled separately from ordinary website analytics. It is used only to review and respond to the application. It is not combined with measurement data about how people use this website, it is not used to build a profile of you as a visitor, and it is not sold, rented or shared for anyone’s marketing.
That separation is structural rather than a matter of policy. Applications and website measurement go to different places, and nothing typed into the application is ever sent to our analytics: its fields are excluded from analytics and from any session recording, so there is no path from a measurement record back to a named applicant.
What submitting would and would not permit
Submitting an application would let us contact you about that application, by email or phone, using the details you gave us. That is the whole of what the consent covers.
It would not subscribe you to marketing email, to marketing text messages, or to a mailing list, and it would not be treated as permission to contact you about anything other than your application. If we ever offer any of those, each would be its own clearly-worded choice, made separately and on purpose — never bundled into the act of applying.
Information collected automatically
Two things happen automatically: website analytics, described in the Analytics section below, and the ordinary records any web server produces.
Ordinary server records
Like any website, requests for pages reach a server, and serving them produces operational records. Our hosting and network providers produce their own infrastructure records as part of delivering the site. That is inherent to putting a website on the internet.
Calculators, quizzes and the Quote Estimator
Two tools are offered on this website: the Life Insurance Needs Calculator and the Life Insurance Quote Estimator. Neither needs an account, a name, an email address or a phone number. Other calculators and quizzes are not currently offered to visitors; this section also records how they and the calculation service are built to handle what is entered into them.
- Figures entered into a tool are sent to our calculation service to work out the result. The service has no database: entries are not stored, not attached to an identity, and not used to build a profile, and the service is built not to write the contents of a request to its own logs. It records only the request method, route, response status and timing.
- To limit request rates, the service holds a caller’s IP address in memory as a counter key for a short window and then discards it. It is not written to a log or a database.
- A child’s name used as a label in a tool stays in the browser and is not sent.
- What you enter into a calculator is never put into a web address, never saved in your browser’s storage or in a cookie, and never sent to analytics. It is kept on the page only while you use it.
- No tool has a field for a name, email address, phone number, date of birth or address, and no result is shown only after one is provided.
- The Quote Estimator accepts six details — an age, an answer to a gender question, tobacco or nicotine use, policy type, coverage amount and, for term, the term length — and the service rejects any request that includes anything else. The tobacco question is the only health-related question any tool asks, and nothing entered into a tool is sent to an insurance company.
Analytics and advertising
Website analytics: Umami
We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, to understand how the website is used — which pages are read, how people arrive, and where the site is slow or hard to use. We run Umami on our own server; it is not a third-party analytics service, and the information it collects is not sold or used for advertising.
Umami is designed to work without analytics cookies, and we have set it up without storing any visitor identifier in your browser. When you visit a page, it may collect:
- the page you viewed and the page or site that referred you;
- campaign labels in the web address (the standard
utm_parameters), but no other part of the address’s query string; - your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language;
- general geographic information, such as country, region or city, derived from your IP address;
- page-speed and responsiveness measurements;
- which of certain links and buttons were used — for example a navigation link, a “Talk with Bleu” button or a source link — and, on some pages, which sections were scrolled into view or that an on-page question was answered, each recorded with a short, fixed label rather than anything you typed or chose;
- for the two calculators: that one was opened, started and showed a result, which next-step button was used, and — for the Quote Estimator — which of three policy types was selected. Never an age, a gender, an amount, an answer or an estimate.
To count visits, Umami groups page views from the same browser into a session on its server using technical details of the request. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not connect it to your name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail.
What we do not send to analytics. We do not intentionally send form contents, anything typed into a field, answers to questions on the site, insurance, financial or health information, or contact identifiers such as an email address or phone number. The website only passes Umami a fixed list of event names and labels, and removes other information from web addresses before anything is sent.
Session replay and heatmaps. We may use Umami’s session replay and heatmap features to see how pages are used, such as where people click or scroll. When we do, what you type into any field is masked, and areas of the site that contain form fields or other inputs are excluded from recordings.
No other analytics or advertising
No other analytics provider and no advertising service is connected to this website. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no Meta pixel, no advertising conversion tag and no third-party chat widget.
How we use information
We use what little we have for a short list of things:
- To answer you. If you email us, we use your message and your email address to reply and to help with what you asked about.
- To keep the site working and secure. Operational records exist to keep the site available and to detect abuse.
- To improve the site. Analytics, described above, shows us which pages help people, where they get stuck and where the site is slow.
We do not build advertising profiles, we do not score or segment visitors, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Sensitive financial and health information
Insurance questions are personal by nature, so this deserves saying directly rather than leaving it to be inferred from the sections above.
This website does not collect detailed health information. There is no health questionnaire, no medication list, no condition history and no medical underwriting form anywhere on it.
We do not claim to operate a HIPAA-covered system, and this website is not one. If a future service does involve health information collected under an appropriate process, it will have its own notice describing it, and that notice will exist before the collection does.
Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit.
The most substantial protection here is architectural rather than procedural: there is no customer database, no account system and no stored record of what visitors entered, and our analytics holds usage records rather than contact details, so there is very little for a breach to reach.
We do not claim any formal security certification, and we make no representation that any system is impenetrable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
How long information is kept
- Operational records: kept for a limited period for troubleshooting and security, then rotated out by our infrastructure.
- Analytics records: kept on our own Umami server for as long as they are useful for understanding how the site is used. They are not tied to your name or contact details.
- Email you send us: kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to meet record-keeping obligations that apply to an insurance agency.
- Details shared from a digital business card: not kept on this website at all. The message stays in the receiving agent’s inbox for as long as needed to follow up and to meet the same record-keeping obligations.
- Agent applications: nothing is retained, because nothing is collected. Submission is switched off, so anything typed into the form stays in your browser and goes no further. When it is switched on, this line will say how long an application is kept and what happens to an unsuccessful one.
Your choices and your rights
Because this site collects so little, most privacy controls have nothing to act on here. The ones that do:
- You can read every page without identifying yourself. No guide on this site requires a name, an email address or a phone number. The only place that asks for them is the agent application, which is a recruiting form you would only reach by deliberately going to it — and which is not currently accepting submissions.
- You can clear the one stored setting by clearing site data in your browser.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply to you, you may have rights concerning access to, correction of, deletion of, or the use of personal information about you — and the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. To make a request, email info@bleu.financial and describe what you are asking for. We will respond as applicable law requires, and we may need enough information to locate the records in question — which, for a visitor who has only read the site, is generally nothing we can connect to you, because analytics records are not linked to a name or contact detail.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is no opt-out of that to offer.
Marketing messages
We do not currently send marketing email, and there is no mailing list to join. Nothing on this site subscribes you to anything. There is no pre-ticked box anywhere on this website.
The agent application has a single tick box, and it is not a marketing one: it confirms that you are applying and that we may contact you about your application. It is unticked until you tick it, it covers that application and nothing else, and it is not a subscription to anything.
No text-messaging service operates on this website, and nothing here collects consent to receive marketing calls or texts. If we ever offer marketing email or marketing texts, each will be an explicit, separately-worded choice you make on purpose — never bundled into another action, never assumed from the fact that you visited this site, and never inferred from having applied for something.
Children
This site is intended for adults making decisions about insurance and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our content cites regulators, government agencies and industry bodies, and links to them so you can check what we say. Those websites are operated by other organisations under their own privacy policies. We do not control them, and this policy stops at our own site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date at the top of the page changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address. That date moves only when the substance changes — not when the site is rebuilt, and not when a typo is fixed. If a change meaningfully affects how information about you is handled, we will make the change prominent rather than relying on you to notice a date.
