This page collects, in one place, everything you should know about who publishes this website and what its content is and is not. Most of it appears in shorter form on the pages it applies to; this is the full version.

It also states plainly where we are not yet able to tell you something. Those gaps are marked rather than papered over.

Who we are

Bleu Financial LLC, doing business as Bleu Insurance Group, is a licensed insurance agency. It is not a broker-dealer and not a registered investment adviser.

“Bleu Financial” is the brand this website publishes under, and the agency is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The people who speak with consumers on its behalf are licensed insurance agents, and that is how they are described on the site.

The agency’s National Producer Number and the list of states in which it is licensed are not published on this site, and nothing here should be read as a claim to be licensed in every state. Insurance availability and licensing requirements vary by state; if you contact us, a licensed insurance agent can tell you whether we are able to help where you live.

What this website is for

This site exists to explain how insurance products work before anybody asks you to sign anything. It publishes plain-language explanations and side-by-side comparisons that name the trade-off rather than only the benefit, and none of it asks for your name.

All of it is general educational information. It is written without knowledge of your circumstances and cannot take account of them. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, keep, change or surrender a policy, and nothing here is legal, tax or investment advice. Whether something suits you depends on facts this website does not have.

What this site covers today

The insurance education on this site today is about life insurance: the product explanations, the underwriting material, the use-case pages and the comparisons. A page that has not been published yet carries a notice saying so, and it is kept out of search results until it is published.

Health insurance, Medicare and retirement topics are not currently part of the published consumer site.

We would rather show you the state of the work than let an unfinished page look finished.

Product availability and variation

Insurance products are not uniform. Availability, features, riders, guarantees, underwriting rules and pricing vary by insurance company, by product and by state, and they change over time. A product described here may not be available where you live, and a feature described in general terms may work differently in a specific contract.

The terms of the policy or contract actually issued to you govern that policy. They prevail over any general description on this site. Where the two differ, the contract is right and we are not.

No guarantee of coverage

Nothing on this website applies for coverage, binds coverage, or guarantees that any insurance company will offer you a policy. Coverage exists only when an insurer has accepted an application and issued a policy on its own terms.

Any guarantees associated with an insurance policy or annuity contract are obligations of the issuing insurance company and depend on that company’s claims-paying ability. They are not guaranteed by us, by any bank, or by any government agency.

Underwriting

Eligibility, rate classification and final pricing are decided by the insurance company through underwriting, using information you provide on an application and records it obtains with the authorisation you sign. Our underwriting content explains how that process works so it is less of a surprise. It does not predict how any insurer will assess you, and nothing on this site pre-qualifies, pre-approves or pre-underwrites anybody.

Policy illustrations

An illustration is a projection of how a policy could perform under a stated set of assumptions. It is not a statement of what will happen, and non-guaranteed elements — credited rates, dividends, expense charges, cost of insurance — can change. Two illustrations can look very different because their assumptions differ rather than because the policies do. The guaranteed columns show what the insurer is contractually obliged to do; everything else is a projection.

Cash value, loans and withdrawals

Permanent policies may accumulate cash value, subject to policy charges and to the terms of the contract. Cash value typically builds slowly in the early years, and surrendering a policy early can return substantially less than has been paid into it.

Policy loans and withdrawals reduce the cash value and the death benefit, and accrue interest where the contract provides for it. An unpaid loan can, in some circumstances, cause a policy to lapse — which can produce a taxable event on top of the loss of coverage. The tax treatment of a loan, withdrawal, surrender or lapse depends on the contract, the amounts involved, and whether the policy is a modified endowment contract.

Universal life and indexed universal life

Universal life policies are flexible-premium contracts in which policy charges are deducted from the account value; if the account value is insufficient to cover them, the policy can lapse unless additional premium is paid. Indexed universal life credits interest by reference to the performance of an index, subject to caps, participation rates, spreads and floors set by the insurer, which may be changed within contractual limits. An indexed policy does not participate directly in any index, does not hold the index’s securities, and does not receive dividends paid on them.

Variable products and the securities boundary

Variable universal life insurance and other variable insurance products are securities as well as insurance products. Their values fluctuate with the performance of the investment options selected, and it is possible to lose money in them, including principal.

What we are not

Bleu Financial LLC is not a broker-dealer and is not a registered investment adviser. Holding an insurance agency licence does not permit us to transact in, recommend or advise on securities, and we do not.

Any content here about variable products, retirement accounts or investment concepts is published for education, so that you can understand what those products are and how they differ from the ones an insurance agency can place. It is not a securities recommendation, not an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security, and not investment advice. Nobody at Bleu is acting as your investment adviser or your fiduciary through this website.

Purchasing a variable product requires a properly licensed and registered representative and the regulated process that goes with it, including delivery of the applicable prospectus. You should read a prospectus, which contains the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses, before investing in one.

Annuities

Annuities are long-term contracts intended for retirement. Withdrawals may be subject to surrender charges, market value adjustments and tax penalties, and early access to the money can be expensive. Index-linked products do not participate directly in any index and do not receive dividends. Annuities are not currently part of the published consumer site; this disclosure applies to any annuity content we publish.

Medicare

We are not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.

Medicare is not currently part of the published consumer site. This site does not market, compare, rank or enrol anyone in any Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D or Medicare Supplement plan. There is no plan finder here, no plan list, and no statement about how many plans or carriers are available in any area.

For official information about Medicare, see Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE.

Health insurance and the Marketplace

Health insurance is not currently part of the published consumer site. This site does not display, compare or enrol anyone in individual or Marketplace health plans, and it makes no statement about plan availability, subsidy eligibility or cost in any area. For official Marketplace information, see HealthCare.gov or your state’s exchange.

What we charge

Bleu Financial does not charge consumers fees for insurance assistance.

Sources

Factual claims in our insurance education are checked against primary sources — regulators, government agencies, model laws and industry bodies — and each source is cited on the page with the date it was checked.

Rules, rates and products change, and material we cite may be updated or superseded after we cite it. Each page shows the date it was last updated.

Testimonials and reviews

This site publishes no testimonials, reviews, ratings, client counts or success statistics. If it ever does, they will be genuine, attributed, and identified as what they are — and any material connection between us and the person giving one will be disclosed alongside it.
